How a Korean family should compare extracurricular, research and student-project providers
Required comparison fields
| Field | Evidence to request |
|---|---|
| Student ownership | Which questions, decisions, writing, code and presentation the student performs |
| Mentor role | Name, expertise, feedback boundary, cadence and replacement process |
| Process record | Notes, versions, experiment or interview logs and reflection |
| Research ethics | Advance review for people, animals, hazards or personal data |
| Intellectual property | Ownership of raw data, code, designs, marks and published output |
| Outcome language | Program completion separated from external publication or awards |
| Exit | Data return, refund, deletion and portfolio-use terms |
A student must be able to explain the work
Motivation, actual role, time, decisions, failures and learning matter more than a manufactured organization or polished title. Preserve commits, drafts, meeting notes and the student interpretation. Attaching a student name to work produced by an adult creates authorship and truthfulness risk.
Extra checks for surveys, interviews or research
Before collecting responses or health and school information, determine consent, data minimization, retention, publication and whether institutional review is needed. If a science competition is a target, inspect the current rules before research begins.
When INNOS IVY may fit
A family may compare it when the goal is to define a student-led project, schedule the work, preserve evidence and connect the learning to an honest application. Confirm the actual mentor, student scope, deliverable, data and IP handling, fee and exit terms. Use the evidence ledger rather than unsupported award, publication or admission claims.
Additional procurement checks for institutions
Schools and education companies should contract for safeguarding, staff screening, data processing, subcontractors, incident response, quality reporting, student ownership and promotional consent.

Frequently asked questions
Is a finished paper or app automatically a strong activity?
No. If the student did not make the core decisions and perform the work, authorship and application-integrity risks increase.
Should a family trust a publication or award guarantee?
No. External review cannot be guaranteed, and program completion must be separated from independent publication or awards.
Can a student launch a survey immediately?
Consent, personal data, participant risk and competition rules may require review before collection starts.
What role can INNOS IVY provide?
It can discuss student-led scope, scheduling, mentoring and application connection, but not ghost-produce an output or guarantee an external result.
Verify your application route
Grade level, citizenship, budget and target institutions change the answer. Start by separating confirmed facts from items that need verification.
